First Post

First post here as the NFL playoffs are well underway. I have been meaning to create a blog for over a year now as time has allowed me to finally sit down and talk football. I will start here (after the Ravens win over the Titans and the Cardinals currently with a 17-7 lead over the Panthers) and discuss Sunday's games. As far as any concern you may have for me personally as an NFL fan, I am a New England Patriots fan ever since I was a child watching Drew Bledsoe. My opinion however, is unbiased; I promise. Without further ado, my analysis of tomorrow's games.

1:00 P.M. Eagles @ Giants
The only way the Eagles can win is if they play like they did during the second time they faced the Giants, except they MUST stop Jacobs. Philly is known for a much better pass defense, (they still allowed 100 yards on the ground without Jacobs) but I liked what a saw in Minnesota. The play of both of the Brains on both sides of the ball for the Eagles will be the difference, Brain Westbrook and Brain Dawkins. Dawkins is willing his defense and secondary through the playoffs. I like McNabb against the Giants D due to his mobility. And just as all of the analysts have said before, the loss of Plaxico hurts, but it is not the be all, end all because of the strong running game and depth at wide out, but the lack of a deep threat helps the Eagles D out. I am a believer in the Eagles defense, but this will be close.

4:45 P. M. Chargers @ Steelers
This is probably the matchup that will be toughest to call, the Steelers defense could come out and dominate, or the super super San Diego Chargers could heat it up with Sproles, and their WRs. Again San Diego's secondary showed up vs Peyton, making similar defensive stands to last year's matchup against the Colts. Big Ben's mobility and play extension will be a factor, as will a balanced offense with an actually running game. Something that the Colts lacked. Of course on the road in the snow in Steel City could be a factor, but I am currently witnessing the Arizona Cardinals dismantle the Panthers who are undefeated at home this year, so anything could happen. (BTW: Jake Delhomme is not playing well, and Cards D is playing awesome)

Looking Ahead:

An enjoyable NFC Championship Game would be: Eagles/Panthers
An enjoyable Superbowl would be: Eagles/Steelers (this would be an awesome matchup in so many ways)

The Underdogs: Ravens/Cards
The Chokers: Titans/Panthers(maybe?)
